What We Do

We bring hope to the homeless and help them make the transition back into society. We have been feeding over 200 people weekly on the streets of Miami for the past ten years and providing them with clothing, shoes, blankets, sleeping bags, and toiletries.

For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’

Our Success

If Hope House Miami could talk, what wonderful stories it would tell. First, it would tell of the transformed lives of the many people who had experienced homelessness but found sanctuary and hope within its walls.  It would tell of the dedicated volunteers who are not afraid to go where there is pain and poverty. It would tell of thousands of holiday dinners, gift cards, foot washings, and new sneakers for the homeless. It would tell the story of two men who found themselves through the acceptance and responsibility that is a part of Hope House.

Three years ago a young man had just completed his rehab program and had no place to go. It would have been easy for him to go back to his old life of addiction without the stability of temporary housing and guidance and support. Hope House was there to help him avert a relapse by providing a safe place to stay, access to job training and guidance. Today that young man continues to live soberly and responsibly and work three days a week as a massage therapist.

By far the most successful story has to be the one about the former homeless man who stayed at Hope House and went on to be the manager of the property. That man’s life is a testimony to the power of compassion at work in Hope House.
